  1. LICENSE AGREEMENT  ( don't panic )

  3. This software has been produced by Lorenzo Micheletto
  4. I (Lorenzo) choosed to distribuite this as NPD freeware
  5. (Nearly Public Domain FREE-softWARE)
  6. that is you have to follow these rules:

  8. 1) If you follow the other rules you can do anything you want with 386P + XGE 
  9.    EXCEPT deliberately harmful things like viruses or trojans. 
  10.   
  11. 2) To legally use this code you have to put in the credits-list
  12.    ( the list of names you usually show in the "program info" submenu
  13.      to let the user know "who coded it")
  14.    my name and the names of all the other people 
  15.    involved with these software modules.
  16.    THIS INCLUDES THE DRIVERS TOO (i.e. when you load a driver
  17.    you will have to display the "author name" string, adding it into the
  18.    "credits" list you usually show)
  19.    (VISIBLE, not something that is displayed for less than a second
  20.    while booting the program).
  21.    What's more, if something doesn't work, you can put the blame on me ;).

  23. 3) If you devenlop a new XGE driver, it would be a nice thing
  24.    if you distribuite it as NPD with source included.
  25.    ( as you can read, i'm not forcing you to do this, but if you won't
  26.      you will indirectly damage yourself).
  27.    This will make lots of drivers available at zero cost
  28.    and indirectly will help you to reach a wider user base.

  30. 4) If you hack and/or "evolve" (build a new driver based on the source
  31.    of an old one), add your name to the author's list, but don't erase
  32.    the other names.
  33.    
  34. 5) If you modify 386P or XGE (I bet you will do, both modules
  35.    have been designed starting with the idea that they will be 
  36.    hacked or upgraded heavily by other people) it must still be NPD.

  38. 6) OF COURSE, any COMPLETE GAME/PROGRAM based on 386P or XGE
  39.    is owned by you and you can do what you want, nothing will be asked
  40.    and no lawyers will get on you if you respect rules 1) and 2).

  49.    Usually i get bug reports, and when you always get
  50.    e-mail starting with bug reports you get really depressed.
  51.    So a postcard will improve my productivity :) and the next
  52.    release of 386P will be more improved.

  54. This release and all the future releases of 386P+XGE will be
  55. NPD software, i think this will let ME get a wide "test base"
  56. for the core modules i plan to use in my programs
  57. and will let YOU have access to a cheap (zero $) and tested set
  58. of software modules to build games and other stuff.
